Why Gora started

Gora started to fill a clear gap in climbing: finding reliable partners and staying connected should be much easier than it is today.

Climbing communities are spread across group chats, general social networks, gyms, crags, and local circles. That fragmentation makes it difficult to meet partners, discover new areas, and connect with local climbers while traveling.

Gora brings those needs into one dedicated social platform for climbing, giving climbers around the world a unified place to find people, sessions, trips, crags, gyms, and conversations.

Gora is now available on iOS and Android, built to help climbers find partners nearby, see who is active, plan sessions, organize trips, and keep the conversation moving in one place.

Hundreds of climbers joined in the first days, with early feedback already pointing to the same need: less chasing messages across scattered groups, more real plans with people who want to get on the wall.

Founder

About the founder

Sergio is a full-stack software engineer with 20 years of experience and a strong focus on mobile apps since 2009. He has shipped hundreds of apps for festivals, corporations, and telcos.

He climbs four to five days a week, travels to discover new crags, and loves meeting people through climbing. For him, climbing is about sharing the send, swapping stories, and having fun with other people.
